Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Exciting opportunities are available for dedicated Occupational Therapists seeking a rewarding, full-time role supporting students ages 3 to 21. This contract position is in the Houston area's southwest region, within a defined geographic zone, and spans the full academic year from August 11, 2026, to May 26, 2027. You'll deliver vital OT services across 6-7 local schools, focusing on both direct treatment and consultations. The caseload tends to stay in the manageable range of approximately 70, with 30-40 students receiving direct services and the remainder on consult-only status. Schedules rotate—rarely are students seen weekly—allowing you to prioritize effectiveness and efficiency while meeting diverse student needs.
Desired Qualifications:
Active Occupational Therapist license in Texas School-based OT experience (open to highly qualified COTAs with several years' relevant background) Strong skills in conducting evaluations and contributing to ARD meetings Proficiency with digital tools (SHARES Health software, Onward, Excel for IEP documentation) Comfort working autonomously—no COTAs for support, as the lead OT you'll own your caseload Must not have previous employment history with the district Ability to travel within your assigned zone (commute tailored by ZIP code) Successful completion or possession of district fingerprint clearance
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive OT assessments and interventions Maintain accurate logs and documentation for IEPs Collaborate closely with ARD teams and provide consultative services Schedule and deliver services per student needs—rotating direct and consult models Serve as the primary point of contact for OT services across assigned campuses This is a full-time, on-site contract (35 hours/week), Monday through Friday between 7:30am-4:00pm.
