Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract A school-based occupational therapy opportunity is available for credentialed professionals looking for a full-time, on-site role serving students ages 3 to 21. This contract position is located on the southwest side of the Houston area, covering 6-7 campuses within an assigned zone to minimize commuting.
Key Qualifications:
Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Texas Extensive school-based OT experience highly preferred Open to highly qualified COTAs with multiple years of school experience Strong familiarity with evaluation, treatment planning, and attending ARDS meetings Proficient with SHARES and Onward documentation systems, excel logs for IEPs Ability to manage caseloads and routine documentation independently Must not be a former employee of the district
Role Responsibilities:
Provide full-time therapy across assigned schools, focusing primarily on direct treatment while also handling consult-only cases Maintain a direct services caseload of approximately 30-40 students; consult-only portions expand total caseload to around 70 Deliver services according to rotating schedules (weekly, biweekly, or every six weeks), ensuring quality interventions tailored to IEP goals Complete thorough evaluations and actively participate in ARDS meetings Zone-based campus assignments based on ZIP code to streamline workflow and minimize commute time Adhere to the district's credentialing, background check, and fingerprint requirements Enjoy the benefits of a regular Monday-Friday schedule (typically 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with occasional variations), independent caseload management, and the opportunity to have a direct impact on student outcomes.
