Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Make a difference in the lives of students as a full-time Occupational Therapist for the 2026-2027 school year! This rewarding contract role is based on-site in the southwest Houston area and focuses on providing essential therapy services across 6-7 assigned schools, with students ranging in age from 3 to 21. Your expertise helps students access their education and achieve their potential.
Key Qualifications:
Active Texas Occupational Therapy licensure Experience in a school-based setting highly preferred Open to highly qualified COTAs with several years of relevant schools experience Strong organizational skills to manage caseloads and documentation efficiently Familiarity with SHARES and Onward software, or willingness to learn Ability to maintain detailed records for IEPs and conduct student evaluations Flexibility, teamwork, and strong communication abilities
Responsibilities:
Provide occupational therapy services with a caseload target around 70 students—most through consults, with approximately 30-40 receiving direct services Conduct evaluations, create and implement treatment plans, and attend ARDs as needed Deliver therapy on a rotating schedule; direct service frequency varies by student need Serve as the lead OT—there are no COTAs assigned, so leadership and autonomy are key Maintain clear, thorough documentation and logs Collaborate with other school staff, parents, and teachers to promote student progress
Role Details:
Full-time only, 35 hours per week Assigned to schools within a specific zone based on your zip code—minimizing commuting time Typical work hours: 8:00 am-4:00 pm (occasionally 7:30 am-3:30 pm) Contract dates: August 11, 2026 - May 26, 2027 District fingerprinting requirements apply Former employees of the district are not eligible Ready to apply your OT skills in a supportive, mission-driven school environment?
