Job Description
Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract To Hire Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students by offering occupational therapy services in a dynamic educational environment. This role focuses on in-person interventions, beginning in June, primarily assisting with Extended School Year (ESY) programs and providing compensatory services to help every student reach their fullest potential. This is a contract-to-hire position, allowing you to showcase your skills with the potential for continued growth.
Qualifications:
Valid licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) in the state of Virginia Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in an educational or school-based setting Knowledge of best practices related to school occupational therapy Strong communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families Ability to effectively adapt to changing student needs and service requirements Availability to provide in-person services, including on a PRN (as needed) basis Previous experience with ESY and/or compensatory services is a plusResponsibilities:
Deliver targeted occupational therapy services to students, addressing individualized education goals Support students participating in ESY and those requiring compensatory services due to previously missed sessions Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement tailored intervention plans Assess student progress, document sessions, and communicate progress with IEP teams and families Maintain compliance with all local and federal guidelines for school-based therapy services Demonstrate flexibility by stepping in as needed to support fluctuating caseloads and staffing needs This position offers a flexible schedule, making it perfect for professionals seeking to expand their school-based experience while positively influencing students' lives.
