Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Embrace a rewarding opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of K-12 students as a contract Occupational Therapist. This role is ideal for a compassionate professional eager to collaborate with educators, families, and support teams to foster student growth and achievement. Your expertise will empower students to overcome developmental challenges and reach their fullest potential within a Virginia school setting.
Responsibilities include:
Delivering both direct and consultative occupational therapy services in accordance with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Conducting thorough evaluations and assessments to determine each student's specific needs Creating and implementing tailored treatment plans to support educational and functional goals Working closely with teachers, special education personnel, and families to promote student progress Keeping detailed and accurate documentation in compliance with all district and state requirements Actively participating in IEP meetings and collaborating on student goal setting Promoting growth in fine motor skills, sensory regulation, and independent functioning to maximize classroom participation Desired qualifications: Master's degree in Occupational Therapy Valid Virginia OT license (or eligibility to secure one promptly) NBCOT certification School-based experience is a plus, though enthusiastic new graduates are welcome to apply Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills The position offers a consistent schedule aligned with the academic year (including holidays and breaks), averaging 37.5 hours per week.
