Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity where your expertise as an Occupational Therapist will make a meaningful difference in students' lives. This role involves working closely with children in a school setting, providing targeted interventions and personalized support to help learners reach their full potential. You'll join a collaborative educational team dedicated to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Virginia (or eligibility to obtain) Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is highly desirable Familiarity with developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and other support staff Ability to manage a caseload and adapt therapy plans to meet the unique needs of each student Commitment to promoting participation in school routines and classroom activities
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments to identify students' strengths and areas for growth Develop individualized treatment plans and therapeutic activities aligned with educational goals Deliver direct OT services, both individually and in small groups Provide consultative support and training to teachers and staff Maintain accurate records, progress notes, and documentation as required Participate in IEP meetings, offering insights and recommendations for accommodations and strategies Monitor and adjust interventions to foster growth, self-regulation, and independence in students
