Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Experience a rewarding assignment supporting middle and high school students as a contract Occupational Therapist working 30 hours per week. This position offers the chance to make a meaningful impact at a single site, working with no more than 20 students on a diverse caseload. Your focus will be on helping students who primarily require specialized instruction in self-regulation and fine-motor skills, with many coming from a Native American background. You'll be collaborating with another dedicated, part-time Occupational Therapist who is eager to share insight and coordinate approaches on-site multiple days per week. This supportive atmosphere encourages teamwork and professional growth.
Key Qualifications:
Active Occupational Therapist license for Washington State Prior experience or strong interest in working within K-12 school settings Understanding of self-regulation strategies and fine-motor interventions Ability to work independently and thrive in a collaborative environment Strong communication and organizational skills Sensitivity and respect for diverse cultures, particularly Native American populations
Key Responsibilities:
Assess students' needs and develop individualized therapy plans focused on self-regulation and fine-motor skills Deliver direct OT services to students as outlined in their IEPs Collect data and document progress in accordance with educational and clinical standards Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to integrate OT strategies into the classroom and home settings Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional recommendations Engage in ongoing professional collaboration with your OT colleague onsite This is an opportunity to truly connect with students and contribute to their growth in both practical and lasting ways.
