HEALTH REHABILITATION SPECIALIST

(MHRS) Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist (MHRS)

Qualifications:

The Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialists shall meet the following requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Human Services, Social Science, Sociology, Psychology, or related fields.
• Child Development Training 12 units Early Childhood Development, Adolescent Development, or Foster & Kinship Care Education & 100 hours experience
• Alcohol, Drug or Alcohol & Drug Counselor certificates
• Trauma informed training
• Previous employment as a staff in a group home for at least (1) year
• 2-4 years experience working with youth diagnosed with Severe Emotional Issues
• Commercially Sexually Exploited Youth/Children (CSEC) In addition to be considered for employment each candidate must have:

Valid California Driver's License CPR/First Certificate Criminal Record Clearance Reports To:

$30-35/

Hour DOE Schedule:

Fulltime (Tuesday

• Saturday 2pm-10pm/ 4pm-12am) or (Sunday-Thursday 2pm-10pm/ 4pm-12am)

Specific Duties:

Provide psychological counseling support designed to help youth in crisis. Assist youth in developing and using coping skills and offering educational support for those impaired with learning abilities. The Behavior Specialist is also responsible for the implementation of all house rules and program policies in accordance with Licensing Regulations Title 22 on Short-term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP). Administer medication in accordance with the Medication Policies and Procedures, and other duties as assigned by Supervisors. Assist with the implementation of the individual treatment/goals assessment plans, and assistance with individual and group therapy for all residents. Mentor youth and create activities while serving as an example/role model to demonstrate independent living while maintaining a respectful relationship that is built on improving self-esteem for the clients. In addition, the Mental Health Rehabilitation Specialist is responsible for completing daily, weekly, and monthly case notes, which are to be placed in the EXYM program for proper billing for therapeutic services.
