Job Description
Job Summary The Rehabilitation Aide plays a vital role in supporting the rehabilitation team by assisting with patient care and ensuring a smooth operational flow within the facility. This position involves working closely with patients to facilitate their recovery process, providing essential support during therapy sessions, and maintaining a positive environment conducive to healing. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of anatomy and physiology, along with experience in various care settings. Duties Assist physical therapists and other rehabilitation staff in implementing treatment plans for patients. Provide direct patient care, including helping patients with exercises and mobility tasks. Maintain cleanliness and organization of therapy equipment and treatment areas. Document patient progress and report any changes in condition to the rehabilitation team. Support intake processes by gathering necessary patient information and medical history. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care. Educate patients on exercises and rehabilitation techniques as directed by therapists. Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records. Requirements Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is essential. Previous hospital experience or clinic experience is preferred, particularly in acute care settings. Familiarity with outpatient services, orthopedics, geriatrics, or sub-acute care is advantageous. Experience in post-acute care environments is a plus. Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service and care. Ability to work effectively within a team-oriented environment while demonstrating compassion for patients. Must be able to assist patients safely during rehabilitation activities.
