Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) -PRN Location:
Moraga Post Acute Compensation:
Starting at $48 per hour General Purpose The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supports the Staff Occupational Therapist in resident-related activities and direct resident care to enhance the quality of life for our residents.Essential Duties Direct Resident Care:
Treat residents as directed by the Occupational Therapist.Documentation:
Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in accordance with facility, governmental, and third-party payer requirements.Safety Protocols:
Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control, safety, and equipment maintenance protocols.Team Participation:
Participate in Resident Care conferences and Rehabilitation meetings as needed.Training Support:
Assist the nursing department with training Restorative Aides to ensure the highest standards of care.Communication:
Collaborate routinely with the supervising Occupational Therapist to provide timely updates to physicians, nursing staff, the interdisciplinary team, residents, and families regarding progress, goals, and discharge planning.In-Service Training:
Provide in-services on training programs for other staff within the facility as needed.Patient Education:
Educate residents, families, and caregivers on treatment goals, home exercise programs, maintenance programs, safety techniques, and fall prevention strategies.Equipment Recommendations:
Recommend and facilitate the ordering of necessary durable medical equipment for residents to promote independence in activities of daily living (ADLs), such as adaptive equipment, splints, assistive devices, elevated toilet seats, and grab bars.Confidentiality:
Maintain confidentiality of residents' information and company information at all times.Equipment Maintenance:
Report any issues with department equipment to ensure it is maintained in good working order.Quality Improvement:
Contribute to quality assurance, performance improvement initiatives, and facility rehabilitation program development as assigned.Interpersonal Skills:
