Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact supporting students' educational journeys in a contract role as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) near Lehigh Acres, FL. This position focuses on delivering high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy services in a school environment.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant Program Active state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) Minimum one year of recent experience in occupational therapy, ideally within a school or pediatric setting Ability to pass a comprehensive background check Commitment to completing continuing education credits and fulfilling professional development as required
Key Responsibilities:
Provide occupational therapy services under the supervision and guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) Carry out therapeutic activities tailored to students' educational and developmental goals Track and document student progress, collaborating with the OT to adjust interventions as necessary Work closely with teachers, administrators, and families to create supportive environments for students Ensure all records and documentation meet state and district standards Engage in ongoing professional development to maintain best practices within the field
