This is technical work in conducting eligibility process for participation in the CDBG Housing Rehabilitation, and Emergency Repair programs and other federally or municipal funded related housing programs. This work involves performing housing inspection duties as necessary to make recommendation for repairs and executing Federal labor standards and environmental review provisions for related projects. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Community Development Programs Administrator.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned. Performs skilled inspection work to enforce compliance with the Uniform Housing Code, Building Code and HUD Housing Quality Standards Assists in the preparation of periodic quarterly/annual reports to government agencies specifically Davis-Bacon, Section 3 and Environmental Review. Execute Federal Labor Standard Provisions for construction projects when appropriate. Evaluate contractors' proposals, monitor work in-progress for CRA activities. Oversee all demolitions and clearance activities. Monitor work in-progress and ensure completion. Develop work write-up for interior and exterior improvements related to assisted housing programs and monitor work in-progress. Develop work write-ups for rehabilitation projects to be incorporated in bids and contracts. Receive requests, conduct eligibility interviews, process forms, and make initial approvals or rejections, for participation in Housing Rehabilitation programs. Fosters positive employee relations and employee morale on a City-wide basis.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Works inside and outdoors in various weather conditions. Works on uneven surfaces and at heights (up to 35 ft).
