Job Description

Overview The Rehab Tech at Riverside Healthcare plays a vital role in supporting physical, occupational, and speech therapists in delivering high-quality care to patients. The position is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the rehabilitation department, ensuring equipment is prepared, helping with patient transport, and assisting therapists during treatment sessions. The Rehab Tech is an integral part of the rehabilitation team, ensuring patient comfort and contributing to the efficient operation of the rehab facility. Essential Duties Assist therapists with patient treatment sessions by preparing equipment, monitoring patient progress, and providing hands-on support as directed. Transport patients to and from therapy sessions within the facility, ensuring safety and timeliness. Prepare and maintain the cleanliness and organization of therapy equipment and treatment areas. Support therapists in implementing therapeutic exercises, activities, and modalities as directed by the licensed therapy staff. Communicate with therapists and nursing staff to ensure the smooth coordination of patient care. Maintain accurate documentation of patient activity and equipment use in accordance with departmental protocols. Provide basic patient care, such as positioning, assisting with mobility, and offering comfort measures during therapy sessions. Demonstrates flexibility with assignments within professional scope/duties/licensure. Participate in care team meetings, case conferences, and continuing education to stay current with best practices in occupational therapy and home health care. Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, and filing paperwork as needed. Non-essential Duties Assist with inventory management by restocking supplies and reporting equipment needs. Responsibilities Preferred Experience Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and staff members. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Physical ability to assist with patient transfers and to move equipment as necessary. A commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care. Prior experience as a Rehab Tech or in a similar healthcare support role preferred. Required Licensure/Education High school diploma or equivalent.
