1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with a minimum of 1 year of acute care hospital experience for a day shift position in Indiana. Details Inpatient acute care hospital setting with a rehabilitation team of 19 professionals Patients span all acuity levels including ICU and progressive care units Patient diagnoses include CABG and other cardiac procedures, stroke, TBI, joint replacement, fracture repairs, respiratory illnesses, dementia, MS, and Parkinson's disease Day shift, 5x8-hour shifts (8:00-16:30), Monday through Friday plus one weekend day per month Cerner EMR used for charting Floating within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital is required for all travelers Local candidates (Indiana residents) are accepted for this Allied position Requirements Active Indiana COTA license required; license must be in hand prior to start date (license required if applicable) NBCOT certification required BLS certification required (AHA or RQI accepted, must be current) Minimum of 1 year of COTA experience in an acute care hospital setting Cerner EMR experience preferred Manual Therapy and Lymphedema certifications/licenses preferred 2 supervisor references required for consideration SSN and DOB required for consideration First-time travelers are welcome to apply Additional Information Responsibilities include evaluating patients, developing and following plans of care (POC), and making discharge disposition recommendations on a daily basis POC may include ADL training, therapeutic exercises, and therapeutic activities aimed at improving patient function Royal blue scrubs are required; black shoes must be worn Candidates must be prepared to work 2 out of 3 major holidays Up to 5 days of non-holiday RTO can be auto-approved; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval Any current or former permanent or PRN employee of this facility must have a 12-month break before being eligible to apply as a traveler Travelers who have accrued 12 months of travel employment within this health system are required to take a consecutive break to reset eligibility — out-of-state residents require a 90-day break, and in-state residents require a 180-day break, each prior to reaching the traveler's year mark
