Job Description
Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Step into an impactful role supporting students as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, working within an educational environment close to Merrimack, NH. This contract opportunity is perfect for professionals eager to make a difference for high schoolers—and occasionally PreK students—while enjoying work-life balance with a part-time schedule. Your skills will be complemented by onsite Occupational Therapist supervision and ongoing support, fostering collaboration and professional growth. This role begins immediately and extends through to June 12th, 2026. Flexible scheduling allows the right candidate to coordinate their preferred days, with a typical expectation of 15 hours per week over two days (ideally, Tuesday and Thursday, but alternatives can be discussed).
Qualifications & Experience:
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) licensure valid in the state of New Hampshire Experience working with school-aged populations, especially high school students (experience with PreK is a bonus) Knowledge of occupational therapy practices within an educational setting Ability to collaborate with an OT supervisor and follow care plans Strong interpersonal communication skills to engage students and staffKey Responsibilities:
Provide direct occupational therapy services to students per IEP or program requirements Collaborate closely with the supervising onsite OT to support therapy goals Offer assistance with both group and one-on-one therapy sessions Document progress and maintain clear records in alignment with school and OT guidelines Adapt activities to the diverse needs and goals of high school and PreK students Perks of this position include consistent hours, valuable experience in a collaborative school setting, and the support of an experienced onsite OT.
