Job Description

Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Make a difference in students' lives by supporting their growth and independence in a dynamic school-based setting. This contract position is an excellent opportunity for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) passionate about helping children thrive. The assignment runs from August 2026 through May 2027, offering a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. You'll provide impactful, direct therapy services while working alongside an experienced OT team in an itinerant (traveling between sites) format.
Desired Qualifications:
Current NM Occupational Therapy Assistant license (required) Graduation from an accredited COTA program Strong communication and collaboration skills Prior experience in a school-based or pediatric setting is highly valued Professional, flexible, and reliable work ethic
Your Responsibilities:
Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students per IEP/504 plans Travel between assigned schools as an itinerant COTA team member Collaborate closely with OTs, teachers, and support staff to develop individualized treatment strategies Complete assessment documentation and maintain thorough, compliant records Participate in IEP meetings and support ongoing communication with families Contribute positively to a supportive, student-centered team environment
