Job Description

Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) degree, active Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license, and 1+ years Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students in a vibrant educational setting as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). This contract position spans the school year from August 10, 2026, to May 20, 2027, working 37.5 hours weekly in a collaborative, on-site capacity. Partner closely with an experienced OT team to deliver direct services, assist with report writing, and travel between sites as part of an itinerant support model.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Active NM COTA licensure required Previous experience providing school-based OT services preferred Strong organizational skills for managing caseloads, direct interventions, and documentation Collaborative mindset to effectively work within a multidisciplinary team Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct occupational therapy services to students as prescribed in IEPs Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including regular progress reports Collaborate with OT supervisor and educational staff to support student goals Travel between multiple school sites as part of itinerant service assignments Participate in team meetings and contribute to intervention planning Assist in adapting activities and materials to maximize student participation and success
