Job Description
Position Summary (In-office position - 20 hours a week) The Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Specialist provides direct rehabilitation and support services to ADULT individuals with mental health diagnoses in order to promote recovery, independence, community integration, and overall wellness. The CPRS works collaboratively with clients, families, providers, and community resources to help clients develop coping skills, daily living skills, social functioning, and individualized recovery goals. The CPRS supports clients through person centered, trauma informed, and recovery oriented interventions while maintaining professional documentation and compliance with program standards and regulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide psychiatric rehabilitation services to adults with behavioral health needs Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans based on client strengths, needs, and recovery goals Assist clients with improving daily living skills, coping skills, communication skills, socialization, and community functioning Support clients with accessing community resources, healthcare services, educational opportunities, vocational programs, and housing resources Conduct skill building activities in office, home, school, or community settings as appropriate Maintain regular communication with treatment team members, families, case managers, and referral sources Monitor client progress and update rehabilitation goals and interventions as needed Complete accurate and timely documentation including IRP treatment plans, assessments. Participate in clinical supervision, staff meetings, trainings, and quality improvement activities Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA, Medicaid, and state behavioral health regulations Provide crisis support and appropriate referrals when necessary Encourage client empowerment, self advocacy, and active participation in treatment and recovery Qualifications Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Specialist certification required Minimum of one to two years of experience working in behavioral health, psychiatric rehabilitation, or community mental health preferred Knowledge of recovery oriented and trauma informed care practices Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team Experience with electronic health records and clinical documentation preferred Valid driver's license and reliable transportation may be required Required Skills Ability to build therapeutic rapport with diverse populations Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills Ability to maintain professional boundaries and ethical standards Knowledge of community resources and behavioral health systems Time management and documentation accuracy Ability to manage multiple cases and priorities effectively Work Environment Office based, and community based May require local travel to client homes, schools, hospitals, or community locations Flexible schedule may include evenings or weekends depending on client needs
