Job Description

Rehabilitation Therapy Aide - Hand Therapy Clinic Infante Hand & Rehabilitation is looking for a motivated, dependable, and compassionate individual to join our clinical team as a Rehabilitation Therapy Aide . This position is a strong fit for someone currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Health Sciences, or a related field , especially applicants planning to apply to Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, or another rehabilitation-focused graduate program . This is not just a "tech job." We are looking for someone who takes patient care seriously, communicates well, works hard, and wants real clinical exposure in a fast-paced rehabilitation setting. Strong Pathway for Future OT Students Infante Hand & Rehabilitation has become a strong local pathway for students pursuing occupational therapy. Many of our past therapy aides and technicians have gone on to be accepted into the UTEP Occupational Therapy Program , and our clinic has consistently helped prepare motivated applicants with real hands-on patient care experience. While this position does not guarantee acceptance into any program, it provides meaningful exposure to occupational therapy, hand therapy, patient care, rehabilitation, clinical communication, and the expectations of a busy therapy clinic. Position Overview As a Rehabilitation Therapy Aide, you will assist licensed occupational therapy staff with patient flow, treatment setup, therapeutic exercise instruction, equipment preparation, and daily clinic operations. You will work directly with patients recovering from hand, wrist, elbow, and upper extremity injuries. The ideal candidate is professional, coachable, organized, and comfortable working with people throughout the day. This role provides valuable hands-on experience for anyone interested in occupational therapy, physical therapy, athletic training, rehabilitation, or healthcare.
Responsibilities Responsibilities may include:
Assisting occupational therapy staff with patient care activities under appropriate supervision. Preparing treatment areas, equipment, supplies, and exercise stations before and during patient sessions. Helping guide patients through therapeutic exercises and functional activities as instructed by clinical staff. Monitoring patient performance during exercise and reporting concerns or changes to the therapist. Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized clinic environment. Supporting patient flow to help the clinic run efficiently. Assisting with basic documentation support, home exercise program preparation, and patient education materials as directed. Communicating professionally with patients, families, therapists, and front office staff. Participating as part of a team focused on quality care, strong outcomes, and excellent patient experience. Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is: Reliable and punctual. Compassionate with patients. Comfortable working in a busy clinical environment. Able to follow instructions accurately. Professional in communication and appearance. Interested in occupational therapy, physical therapy, hand therapy, sports medicine, or rehabilitation. Willing to learn and take feedback. Able to work well with a team. Bilingual English/Spanish is strongly preferred. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Health Science, or related degree preferred. Current students in a healthcare-related field are encouraged to apply. Previous experience in a clinic, therapy office, gym, medical office, or customer service setting is helpful. Spanish-speaking ability is strongly preferred. Must be able to reliably commute to El Paso, TX 79915. Must be comfortable working directly with patients in person. Benefits Hands-on experience in a specialty rehabilitation clinic.
