We are actively seeking a dynamic Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to help us make a difference and enhance the lives of our residents on a daily basis. Rehab Select has five state-of-the art facilities in Alabama. Shelby Ridge is our 131-bed, long-term care and rehab facility in the heart of Alabaster - where we take pride in the rehab therapy we provide.

Your responsibilities would include:

Interviewing residents to evaluate daily living skills and capacities to determine extent of abilities and limitations Determine appropriate treatment, selecting activities and exercises based on medical and social history Briefing residents on procedures involved in occupational therapy and prepare necessary equipment Transporting residents to and from occupational therapy room. Demonstrating to residents and staff, as necessary, the procedures involved in the treatment process Perform occupational therapy in the resident's room, if necessary Assist in designing and adapting equipment and living environment Teach basic living skills to residents, as necessary Promote participation in individual and group recreational activities Assist residents in ambulatory training, as necessary. Recommend modifications and changes in the resident's therapy treatment as indicated Ensure that all therapists' notes are informative and descriptive of the care provided and of the resident's response to the care Shelby Ridge benefits include excellent pay with FREE Healthcare Insurance after 2 years of employment!!
