Job Description
Overview As an Occupational Therapist Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals in the pediatric population. Your expertise will empower patients to regain independence and improve their daily functioning through tailored therapeutic interventions. You'll work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, utilizing your knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and a passion to serve others to implement effective care plans that address each patient's unique needs. What you'll do Assess patients' needs and develop personalized treatment plans to assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). Provide therapy in a private pediatric clinic. Utilize your knowledge of pediatrics to deliver age-appropriate interventions that promote recovery and well-being. Implement therapeutic exercises and activities designed to enhance physical, cognitive, and emotional functioning. Monitor progress and coordinate with supervising occupational therapist to adjust care plans as necessary based on patient outcomes and feedback. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care and effective communication throughout the treatment process. Educate patients and their families about conditions, treatment options, and strategies for managing daily activities post-therapy. Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and any changes in condition. Experience A degree in Occupational Therapy Assistance from an accredited program is required. Valid state licensure or certification as an Occupational Therapist Assistant is essential. Experience in pediatric facilities is preferred. Familiarity with medical imaging techniques as they relate to therapy interventions is advantageous. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology is crucial for effective patient treatment planning. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams are necessary.
