Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated COTA to join our Vernon, AL team on a part-time basis. Working under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, you will help implement treatment plans and support patients in improving their ability to perform daily activities and achieve greater independence. Responsibilities Assist Occupational Therapists in conducting patient evaluations and assessments to determine functional status and develop treatment plans. Implement individualized treatment programs designed to improve patients' ability to perform activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility, and fine motor skills. Provide therapeutic interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, including therapeutic exercises, activities, and modalities. Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and adaptive equipment to enhance independence and overall function. Monitor and document patient progress, outcomes, and responses to treatment interventions. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and effective patient care. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of progress notes, treatment sessions, and discharge summaries. Requirements Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. Current certification as a COTA by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). State licensure or eligibility for licensure as a COTA in Alabama. CPR certification (BLS). Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to support patients, families, and fellow healthcare professionals. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a healthcare setting, especially rehabilitation or skilled nursing. Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid regulations related to occupational therapy services. Specialized training or certifications in geriatrics, pediatrics, neurorehabilitation, or related areas. Working Conditions Part-time position with flexible scheduling based on departmental needs. May include occasional weekend or holiday shifts depending on department needs.
