Job Description
SUMMARY:
In collaboration with, and under the direction and supervision of an occupational therapist, helps each patient develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working, through the therapeutic use of everyday activities and exercise, outlined in an established care plan.JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Graduate of and degree holder from an Occupational Therapy Assistant Education Program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education Preferred experience: 12 to 18 months related experience, excluding clinical affiliations required to complete a degreeLicensure:
Current Arkansas OTA license in good standing required. Valid and clean Driver's License, reliable transportation and agency required liability insurance to complete home visits. Active personal automobile liability insurance coverage consisting of $100,000 per person and $300,000 per accident for bodily injury required.Certification:

Ability to read, write and communicate effectively. Basic computer knowledge required. Driving required.Sensitive Designation:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform the following: Must have the ability to: communicate effectively, orally and in writing; focus with attention to detail, solve problems and make decisions; show compassion to those in pain/functional loss; handle critical and highly stressful situations with efficiency and composure. Must be able to stand and walk, and bend, squat and twist, push, pull and occasionally lift up to 250 pounds using proper body mechanics for up to 8 hours each day. Requires repetitive hand movements. Must have a keen sense of hearing and visual acuity. Must have good manual dexterity. Must be able to operate a computer keyboard and PC mouse to utilize computer software for patient care documentation.Work Environment :
Patient care setting: within a hospital environment and in an outpatient setting. There is potential risk for exposure to communicable diseases and blood or other body fluids. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a position in a home health setting which is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.Direct patient care staff:
