Job Description
Job Overview •New graduates welcome to apply!•We are looking for a full time COTA for Acute Care at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. This is a 412 bed inpatient hospital with certifications for Stroke, elective THA, TKA and a STEMI receiving center for hearts. ICU, Neuro ICU, Burn ICU, Pediatric ICU, Neuro unit, ortho and spine unit, med surg and telemetry units. New grad OK with 1 acute care or Rehab learning rotation during school. Caseload is 10 patients in 8 hours, no minimum treatment time required (no minimum minutes in acute care). Required to work 1 weekend per month with corresponding weekdays off the same week. Department is open 364 days/ year. Closed on Dec 25. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for patient care and a comprehensive understanding of occupational therapy practices across diverse settings. As a COTA, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to deliver personalized therapy services that enhance patients' functional independence and quality of life. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in various clinical environments, including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing facilities, and home health settings. Duties Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Provide direct patient care in acute care hospital. Monitor patient progress and document responses to therapy interventions accurately in accordance with facility protocols. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and strategies to maintain progress outside of clinical sessions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care delivery and optimal patient outcomes. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment while adhering to all safety regulations and standards. Contribute to the development of care plans by providing insights based on patient interactions and progress. Experience Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and occupational health principles relevant to therapy practices. Proven ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams in acute care settings. Strong understanding of documentation procedures related to patient care and progress notes.
Pay:
$37.00 - $47.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per weekBenefits:
