Days Shift | 5x8 Hours | 8:00 AM - 4:30
PM Pay Rate:
$45.00/Hour (W2)

Onsite About the Client Our client is a locally based, nonprofit healthcare organization serving Northern California. Their integrated health system includes two hospitals, a 100+ provider primary and specialty care medical group, a cancer center, and a state-of-the-art medical fitness center. Position Summary The Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist and assists in providing occupational therapy services to patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The COTA administers treatments, documents patient progress, assists with discharge planning, educates patients and families, and collaborates with the rehabilitation team to support optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Provide occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. Administer therapeutic procedures and treatment modalities appropriate to patient age and condition. Assist with treatment planning and discharge recommendations. Document patient treatments, responses, and progress accurately and timely. Educate patients and caregivers regarding therapy programs, adaptive techniques, and home exercise programs. Instruct patients and families in the use and care of assistive and adaptive equipment. Communicate effectively with therapists, physicians, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members regarding patient progress. Participate in weekend and holiday rotation coverage as assigned. Assist with supervision and orientation of students, interns, volunteers, and other healthcare personnel as appropriate. Maintain treatment areas, equipment, and supplies in a clean, safe, and organized manner. Report safety concerns and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment. Participate in departmental meetings, educational programs, and in-service training. Perform additional duties as assigned. QualificationsEducation Associate of Science Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapist Assistant program required. Experience One (1) year of experience in an acute care hospital or outpatient clinic preferred. New graduates are encouraged to apply. Knowledge of occupational therapy treatment techniques for a variety of physical disabilities. Ability to provide age-appropriate care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. Certifications & Licenses Current California Occupational Therapy Assistant License required. License Applicant status may be considered. Current BLS Certification (AHA or equivalent) required. Must meet all annual compliance requirements (TB, Safety Training, etc.). Required Skills Strong clinical and patient care skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations governing Occupational Therapy practice. Physical Requirements Ability to perform moderate lifting, pushing, and pulling of patients and equipment. Ability to work in both inpatient and outpatient clinical environments. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position. Why Join This Opportunity?
