Job Description

Job Summary Therapy Lab of OC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The position is part time and mainly from the hours of 2:30 -6:30 during the week Monday- Friday and Saturday morning. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic services to patients, primarily focusing on pediatrics. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of patient care, care plans, and the principles of occupational health, ensuring that each patient receives personalized treatment to enhance their quality of life. Duties Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans as directed by the Occupational Therapist. Provide hands-on therapy to patients, focusing on improving their daily living skills and overall functionality. Knowledge of feeding therapy and various feeding approaches Monitor patient progress and document outcomes accurately in medical records. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop effective care plans tailored to each patient's needs. Educate patients and their families about therapeutic activities and home health strategies. Maintain a clean and safe working environment in clinics or skilled nursing facilities. Utilize medical imaging and physiology knowledge to inform treatment approaches when necessary. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in occupational therapy. Qualifications Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program. Knowledge of geriatrics, physiology, medical imaging, and occupational health is preferred. Experience in home health settings or skilled nursing facilities is highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members. Ability to assist patients compassionately while maintaining professionalism at all times. Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and supporting the rehabilitation process.
