Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Step into a role where your expertise as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) makes a real impact in the lives of students. This contract opportunity, located near Fremont, CA, offers 32.5 hours per week for the entire 2026-2027 school year. Collaborate with a passionate team of educational professionals, supporting students in achieving their goals both inside and outside the classroom.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
Active COTA license in California (or eligibility to obtain prior to the assignment) Previous experience in a school setting is highly valued Strong understanding of pediatric occupational therapy interventions and IEP implementation Excellent communication skills to collaborate with educators, students, and families Ability to adapt to a dynamic educational environment and tailor interventions to individual needs Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and compassionate care
Key Responsibilities:
Work with students individually and in small groups under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist Assist in the implementation of IEPs, focusing on activities of daily living, sensory processing, fine motor skills, and adaptive equipment use Collect and document student progress data, sharing insights with the therapy and teaching teams Participate in collaborative meetings and contribute to ongoing student assessments Foster a supportive learning atmosphere that encourages student engagement and independence Assist with the development of classroom modifications and teacher training to optimize student success Experience the rewards of making a difference every day in an educational setting that values your input.
