Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and energetic Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will support residents across various care settings by providing skilled occupational therapy services that promote independence, safety, and quality of life. Your expertise will help develop personalized care plans and deliver hands-on therapy to meet each resident's unique needs. Responsibilities Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to foster independence and dignity Implement and monitor individualized care plans developed by occupational therapists, ensuring goals are met effectively Support residents in outpatient, inpatient, skilled nursing facility, home health, and clinic environments to optimize functional abilities Apply your knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to accurately document progress and communicate with interdisciplinary teams Contribute to the assessment process by observing residents' physical and cognitive abilities in geriatrics and pediatrics as needed Help create a safe environment by adhering to health and safety protocols in acute care settings Engage residents in therapeutic activities that promote physical strength, coordination, and overall well-being Skills Proven experience assisting with ADLs across diverse settings such as outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, or home health environments Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and occupational health principles Skilled in developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs in geriatrics or pediatrics Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to working with diverse populations including inpatient and outpatient clients Knowledge of medical imaging procedures related to occupational therapy assessments is a plus Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams while maintaining clear documentation practices Enthusiastic about helping residents achieve their highest level of independence through active engagement and support Join us at Stonehaven Senior Living where your skills will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents.
