Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Step into an enriching school-based environment as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) and support students throughout the 2026-2027 academic year. This contract position offers the opportunity to make a positive impact at a location near Hayward, CA, working 32.5 hours each week with a collaborative and supportive special education team.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Valid Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) credentials Previous experience within school settings preferred Strong understanding of IEPs and ability to implement therapeutic interventions tailored to each student's needs Excellent organization, communication, and collaboration skills Ability to support Occupational Therapists and work effectively with teachers and other school staff Compassionate approach to working with children of varying abilities and backgrounds
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in delivering OT services and executing IEP goals for students under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist Implement activities to help students develop fine motor, sensory, self-care, and daily living skills Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school and district standards Participate in meetings, offer input for student progress, and communicate regularly with the educational team Foster a safe, nurturing environment that encourages student independence and growth
