Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Step into a pivotal role supporting students' growth and success as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) within a vibrant school setting. This full-time contract opportunity spans the entire academic year, offering the chance to make a real difference in the lives of K-8th grade students. You will work onsite, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to serve a varied caseload of approximately 55 students. Your expertise will directly enhance students' participation in their school routines, helping them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
Desired Qualifications:
Active COTA certification and California licensure (or eligibility) Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred Solid understanding of pediatric occupational therapy best practices Excellent communication and teamwork abilities Strong time management and organizational skills Commitment to fostering a supportive, inclusive educational environment
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct occupational therapy services to K-8th grade students in accordance with their IEPs Implement individualized interventions and adaptive strategies to help students access the curriculum Assist the supervising OT in evaluations, progress monitoring, and documentation Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop and implement effective supports Monitor, document, and report on student progress throughout the school year Participate in IEP meetings and contribute valuable insights to the team This position provides a unique opportunity to work closely with students who benefit from your encouragement and creative problem-solving.
