Job Description:
OT Kids provides in-home and in-school pediatric therapy services across the Westside of Los Angeles and is seeking a part-time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide high-quality therapy services to children and families. We are looking for a self-motivated, caring, passionate, high-spirited, and entrepreneur-minded individual who is confident working independently, building strong relationships with families, and providing excellent care in natural home and school environments. This role is ideal for an experienced COTA who is comfortable taking initiative, problem-solving in the moment, and managing sessions without constant supervision. This is a unique opportunity to build your own flexible schedule while working closely with families and helping children thrive in their everyday environments.
Responsibilities:
Transportation to/from client's home, school, or community location for sessions Provide 50-minute OT treatment sessions under the supervision of the supervising OTR/L Implement treatment plans and therapeutic activities based on the evaluating OT's goals and recommendations Support children with sensory processing, self-regulation, social-emotional development, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, feeding therapy (not required), and executive functioning Communicate professionally and confidently with parents, teachers, and other professionals on the child's care team Maintain clear and timely documentation within the electronic medical record system Collaborate with supervising OTR/L regarding treatment progress, updates, and clinical recommendations Ability to problem-solve, adapt quickly, and operate independently within sessions
Qualifications:
Associate's Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program Current NBCOT certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (required) Current California COTA License (required) Minimum of 2+ years of pediatric experience preferred Strong experience working independently with children and families in home and/or school settings strongly preferred Sensory Integration training or experience preferred Experience with feeding therapy and/or social-emotional learning is a plus Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with families without constant supervision
