Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Step into a vibrant educational environment and lend your skills as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to help students reach their fullest potential. This contract opportunity offers 32.5 hours per week during the 2026-2027 school year, providing the chance to make a meaningful difference while developing your professional expertise.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid COTA certification, with authorization to work in a school setting. Previous experience working with school-aged children or within an educational environment is strongly preferred. Familiarity with IEP processes and data-driven documentation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams. Ability to adapt to changing caseloads and diverse student needs. Passion for supporting students' independence, participation, and success in school activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver occupational therapy interventions under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, targeting goals outlined in students' IEPs. Support students in the development of fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, and daily living activities. Maintain accurate records of student progress and session notes in accordance with school and state guidelines. Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to ensure effective carryover of therapeutic strategies within the classroom and at home. Assist with assessments, goal setting, and progress monitoring as part of a collaborative therapy team.
