Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding part-time opportunity as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) supporting young learners in a vibrant school setting. This contract position is ideal for those who are passionate about making a difference while balancing work with other commitments, offering a consistent schedule of two days per week. You'll collaborate closely with occupational therapists, educators, and families to foster an inclusive, supportive environment where students can thrive. Your skills and compassion will play a key role in helping children achieve their developmental and academic goals.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program Current COTA certification and state licensure (or eligibility to obtain) Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred Strong communication skills for effective teamwork with multidisciplinary staff Commitment to upholding confidentiality and adhering to school policies Organized, compassionate, and proactive in supporting students' needsKey Responsibilities:
Implement individualized therapy interventions as directed by the supervising occupational therapist Support students in building fine motor, self-help, and sensory processing skills Accurately document student progress and communicate updates to the OT and education team Participate in IEP meetings or student planning sessions as needed Prepare engaging therapy activities and adjust strategies based on student responses Foster positive, encouraging relationships with students, teachers, and families Enjoy the flexibility of a part-time schedule while making a meaningful impact.
