Job Description:
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will be delivering therapy sessions, recording the notes of each visit, and following up with their patients. The COTA will be empowered to build their schedule with a supervising OT and maintain it consistently. The COTA will be given the tools (software/programs) to facilitate the secretarial needs of their schedule (i.e., confirming appointments), and will be expected to have computer and smartphone literacy for this reason. Some traveling can be expected, as we also offer services not only at our offices but at daycare centers and schools in the surrounding area. The COTA will meet with their supervising OT at least once a month and work on therapy strategies.
Education/Certificates:
Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) from an ACOTE-accredited program, or a related degree with relevant coursework. Active COTA license issued by the Florida Department of Health.
Note :
Candidates without a valid Florida COTA license or no related courses on their resume will not be considered.
Skills:
English speaking. Bilingual (English, Spanish). Computer literacy. Smartphone literacy.
Required Work Experience:
At least 1 year of working with children.
Responsibilities:
Deliver OT interventions proficiently and with fidelity to the treatment plan. Engage in patient-centered care. Maintain a consistent roster of patients. Organize your schedule. Use the software and programs provided. Work with the patient's parents/guardians.
