Join our dynamic team at Pearl Pointe in Freeport, Illinois, as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) and play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients. As a COTA, you will work under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist to help patients develop, recover, or maintain daily living and work skills. Our COTA team is dedicated to creating a strong foundation for a healthy community, and we're seeking a passionate and skilled professional to join our team.Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed occupational therapists in the development and implementation of patient treatment plans
- Conduct assessments, interventions, and evaluations to enhance patient function and independence
- Use therapeutic activities and exercises to promote mobility, strength, and flexibility
- Educate patients and their families on proper techniques and strategies for daily living skills
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address patient needs and goals
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of patient treatment and progress
Requirements:
- Currently certified as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) by the NBCOT
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in occupational therapy assistant preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Basic knowledge of restorative care principles and practices
