Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Embark on a rewarding contract role assisting students in reaching their highest potential. This opportunity is ideal for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with a passion for working within a school environment near Hammond, IN. You'll collaborate with a dedicated multidisciplinary team focused on providing supportive, individualized occupational therapy services to students of varying needs.
Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Active state licensure as required for school practice Previous experience in school-based or pediatric occupational therapy settings preferred Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to adapt therapy plans to meet individual student goals Familiarity with educational documentation and IEP process is an advantage
Key Responsibilities:
Support the execution of individualized occupational therapy programs under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist Work directly with students, helping them develop essential fine motor, sensory, and functional skills within the classroom setting Document progress and collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and caregivers on student achievements and ongoing objectives Assist in the implementation of strategies and accommodations to enhance participation and learning Contribute to IEP meetings and assist with the creation of progress reports as requested Maintain compliance with all school district, state, and federal guidelines for therapy documentation and processes This contract position offers a dynamic and supportive environment where your skills will impact students' daily lives.
