Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic school-based contract position supporting students and staff as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to cover a maternity leave. This opportunity is located near Overland Park, KS, and is ideal for professionals experienced in school settings who are passionate about making a difference in children's lives.
Essential Qualifications:
Active COTA license and certification Previous experience working in school environments or with pediatric populations Familiarity with school-based occupational therapy practices and individualized education programs (IEPs) Ability to communicate effectively with students, educators, and families Strong organizational and documentation skills Adaptable and able to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver occupational therapy interventions as directed by an Occupational Therapist in compliance with students' IEP goals Support students' participation in classroom and school activities by addressing fine motor, sensory, self-help, and adaptive skills Collaborate closely with teachers and educational staff to integrate therapeutic strategies into daily routines Assist with evaluations, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings as needed Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student growth and independence This is a contract-based role, ideal for those seeking flexibility and the chance to make a meaningful impact during an important transition period for the school.
