Day shift; consistent full-time hours Job Summary Advocate Healthcare Center of East Boston is seeking a motivated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation team. The COTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide high-quality, resident-focused therapy services. This position is full-time and open to new graduates as well as candidates with Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) experience. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide occupational therapy treatments in accordance with established plans of care under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist Assist residents in improving independence with activities of daily living (ADLs), functional mobility, strength, coordination, and cognitive skills Monitor and document resident progress, responses to treatment, and any changes in condition Communicate effectively with the supervising Occupational Therapist and interdisciplinary care team Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with facility policies and state and federal regulations Educate residents and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, adaptive equipment, and safety strategies Maintain a clean, safe, and organized treatment environment Adhere to all infection control, safety, and HIPAA standards Qualifications Required Associate degree from an ACOTE-accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program Current NBCOT certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Active Massachusetts COTA license or eligibility to obtain prior to start date Ability to work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills Ability to meet physical requirements of the position, including assisting residents with mobility and transfers Preferred Experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), rehabilitation, or post-acute care setting Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Experience New graduates are encouraged to apply SNF or post-acute care experience preferred but not required Relevant clinical fieldwork experience will be considered Compensation and Benefits Hourly pay range: $40- 44 per hour Comprehensive benefits package Paid time off (PTO) and sick leave Supportive and experienced leadership team Career growth and advancement opportunities Warm, professional, and resident-focused work environment Convenient East Boston location with easy access to public transportation Weekly Pay with Secure Online Payroll Access View pay stubs anytime Track hours worked Access upcoming pay dates Download W-2 and tax documents Update direct deposit information Eligible to cash out up to 50% of earned wages daily Shift differentials, including higher weekend rates Legal and Compliance Requirements Must meet all Massachusetts licensure requirements for Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants Must comply with all applicable state and federal healthcare regulations, including HIPAA Successful completion of background check, drug screening, and health clearance (including TB testing) required prior to employment Must maintain licensure and certification in good standing throughout employment
