Job Description
Position Summary The OTA assistant will be responsible for implementing therapeutic interventions and programs developed collaboratively by the Occupational Therapist team at our Northampton and Belchertown programs. A trauma informed approach that prioritizes each client's voice, choice, is strength based, and culturally and linguistically competent will be required of the OTA. All occupational therapy services must be provided in a professional manner that complies with all agency, local, state and federal regulations. Essential Position Functions 1. Provides consistent support to the client, caregiver(s) and staff that is based on evidence-based models, emphasizing core guiding principles and philosophies, such as, Trauma Informed care, Attachment Theory, Wraparound, Building Bridges, Sensory Integration and other occupational therapy-based models as appropriate. 2. Works as an integral member of the therapeutic based team, led by each client and family vision, values, voice, choice, hopes and strengths. The therapeutic work of the team is culturally and linguistically competent. This collaborative process includes the caregivers and youth as central to the process of co-creating therapeutic goals and interventions included in the action plan that the therapeutic support specialist uses to help guide the intervention and progress tracking processes. 3. Analyze history, physical, OT and Treatment team-related assessments, goals, therapeutic plans, and all other documentation to accurately understand the strengths, vision, needs, and goals of the client populations served. 4. Works with the youth, family and staff in tracking progress and actively maintaining communication with other team members in a consistent and timely manner, both internal and external team members/vested parties from other organizations. 5. Assists with engaging the client, family and staff in community-based activities as appropriate. This could include assisting the parent with gathering information about community resources, supporting the parent in accessing natural resources or helping coach the child on social, emotional, sensorimotor, self-care and/or independent living skills, self-regulation and/or co-regulation skills. 6. Collaboratively interacts with the community, staff, family members and other treatment providers (including parent partners and peer supports) in a manner that is consistent with HIPAA regulations and the OT and educational plan(s). 7. Completes and maintains relevant documentation and billing processes using the medical record system used by the specific program where the OT service is provided, accurately documenting session units and interventions as applicable to therapeutic needs, contracts and individualized programming associated with each client and family. 8. Coordinates and takes the initiative to effectively communicate with the OT supervisor and/or program staff to best meet needs as appropriate. 9. Demonstrates professionalism in all communication, therapeutic interventions, and professional duties. 10. Stays current in all professional and agency-wide training requirements. 11. Actively seeks support when needed. 12. Adheres to Cutchins Programs for Children and Families Rules, Standards, Ethics and Personnel Policies and Procedures. 13. Stays up to date on and follows all regulations set by the MA state licensing board and OTA certification standards. Minimum Requirements for the

Associates Degree in Occupational Therapy License and/orCertification:
Must be Mass. certified and licensed to provide OTA services.Years and Type of Experience Preferred:
2+ years of related experienceOther Skills or Requirements:
Good verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, flexibility with schedule, and a valid driver's license with own transportation. Good computer skills. Ability to be on call on off hours.Physical Requirements:
Ability to participate in and effectively maneuver all occupational therapy-related equipment and interventions, visual, tactile, balance/equilibrium, and auditory acuity to supervise and directly work with clients and caregivers.
