Spencer East Brookfield School District wants to add a dynamic, qualified OT-COTA to our Special Education Team. Our supportive special education team is looking for an individual to work with and support students across the district under the supervision of an OTR.Reporting Structure:
The COTA reports to the Distircts OTR Qualifications (Required): Valid License/Certification in the area Experience with students who have diverse behavioral needs Ability to relate /communicate effectively with teachers, students, parents, and administrators.Duties and Responsibilities:
Work closely with special education staff, under the supervision of an OTR, to address the needs of students in the Spencer East Brookfield School District. Provide instructional support and strategies for special education students according to IDEA requirements. Maintain AT resources, collaborate with teachers and OTR on student AT needs, and work with students to integrate the use of AT into the natural routines of the day. Attend IEP meetings/staffing and other meetings as requested Support teachers in developing & implementing supports Complete needed paperwork and job-related functions in a timely manner Schedule a significant number of activities, meetings, and/or events Gather, collate, and/or classify data; generate reports and consider a wide variety of factors Utilize a variety of job-related equipment and assistive technology Routinely attended district and school-based meetings, training, and professional development Compliance with existing laws and professional ethics Maintenance of appropriate continuing education credits, as well as state licensure Other duties as requested by the OTR, Student Service Director Director, or Building Principal Travel to more than one work location in the course of the day may be required Ability to physically assist students with physical and other disabilities May be required to respond quickly to students, which may require runningPosition Type:
