Job Description

Schedule :
Full Time | 72-80 hours/pay period | Monday to Friday | 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Pay range : $29.00/hour to $35.00/hour (hourly non-exempt) based on qualifications, experience, and location. Under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist, you'll implement personalized treatment programs, provide hands-on care, and ensure seamless communication with clients, families, and the care team. Your expertise will empower clients to achieve meaningful, functional goals, making a lasting impact on their daily lives. As a COTA, you will: Deliver Direct Care
  • Assist with resident screenings, implement individualized treatment plans designed by the Occupational Therapist, and adjust therapies based on patient response Support mobility, strength, and rehabilitation efforts using exercises, assistive devices, and other techniques. Maintain Accurate Client Records & Billing
  • Document all services accurately and timely using Vivie's EMR system. Maintain accurate, timely records of treatments, progress, and patient responses. Complete billing documentation and ensure compliance with medical record guidelines. Collaborate with Care Teams
  • Work closely with OccupationalTherapists, physicians, case managers, and families to optimize patient outcomes. Participate in care planning meetings, provide progress updates, and recommend discharge plan. Ensure Safety and Compliance
  • Maintain equipment, follow infection control protocols, and uphold therapy standards. Stay updated on best practices and participate in professional development opportunities. Recommend follow-up programs for outpatient or home-based therapy. Communicate Effectively & Collaborate
  • Engage with clients, caregivers, and family members to set meaningful, functional goals. Provide clear and compassionate updates on client progress while maintaining confidentiality. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure a seamless and client-centered approach to care. Other Duties as Assigned

This job also requires:
Current Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in the state of Minnesota. CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire). Understanding of medical documentation, billing processes, and compliance regulations. Experience in home health, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation settings is preferred but not required. Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams. Strong knowledge of occupational therapy practices and rehabilitation techniques. Valid driver's license and access to an insured personal vehicle. Ability to pass state mandated background check. Physical capability to perform all essential job functions. Ability to read, write, and speak English to ensure effective communication with residents, families, and team members.
