Job Description

Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Bring your expertise as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to a dynamic school environment supporting students in grades 6 through 12. This contract opportunity allows you to make a meaningful impact on student development and overall well-being in an educational setting near Dixon, MO. Desired Qualifications and Experience:
Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Experience working with school-aged children, preferably middle and high school Strong understanding of school-based OT practices and IEP implementation Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families Ability to adapt therapy approaches to individual student needs Organizational skills to manage documentation and scheduling efficiently
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in grades 6-12 as outlined in IEPs Collaborate with occupational therapists, special education staff, teachers, and parents to support student progress Assist in the development, adaptation, and implementation of therapeutic activities and interventions that promote independence in academic and functional skills Monitor and document student performance, updating progress notes and records in accordance with school policies Contribute to team meetings and participate in IEP discussions as needed Support classroom environments by recommending modifications for improved student access and participation Working in this school-based role offers you the chance to contribute to students' growth and success while collaborating within a welcoming educational community.
