Category Schools - COTA Job Type Contract Step into a fulfilling role supporting students' growth and development in a dynamic educational environment. This contract opportunity is ideal for a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) eager to make a meaningful difference with middle and high school-aged learners. You'll collaborate closely with occupational therapists, teachers, and other school professionals to foster students' independence and help them reach their potential throughout 6th-12th grades. Your expertise will promote physical, cognitive, and emotional well-being, ensuring each student receives the support they need to thrive in their academic setting.
Key Qualifications:
Valid certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Experience working in educational or pediatric settings, preferably within grades 6-12 Current state licensure or eligibility as required Strong collaborative skills and excellent communication Ability to adapt interventions to varied student needs Commitment to supporting diverse student populations
Core Responsibilities:
Implement and adapt therapeutic activities as directed by the occupational therapist Work with students in both group and individual sessions, helping address fine motor, sensory, and self-regulation skills Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate records Support teachers with classroom modifications and assistive device usage Participate in IEP meetings, providing input and feedback to support student goals Educate students and staff on the importance of occupational therapy strategies in the school environment This role offers the opportunity to grow professionally, make lasting impacts on students' lives, and work alongside a passionate educational team.
