Duties Assist licensed occupational therapists in developing and executing individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs, including those in acute care, outpatient clinics, or skilled nursing facilities Support patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote independence and safety Implement therapeutic activities designed to improve motor skills, cognitive function, and overall well-being across diverse populations including pediatrics and geriatrics Document patient progress accurately within medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies Educate patients and caregivers on proper techniques for ongoing therapy exercises and home health routines Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans that address patient goals in inpatient, outpatient, or home health settings Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards during all patient interactions Experience Proven experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in settings such as skilled nursing facilities, inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, or home health environments Familiarity with assisting patients with ADLs and implementing therapy interventions in acute care or outpatient contexts Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and occupational health principles necessary for effective patient care Prior work experience in geriatrics or pediatrics is highly valued Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team Skilled in documenting patient progress accurately while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with healthcare standards Experience with medical imaging or specialized therapy tools is a plus but not required Embark on a fulfilling career where your skills directly impact lives!
