In this vital role, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to deliver exceptional patient care across diverse settings. Your expertise will help patients regain independence and improve their quality of life through tailored therapy interventions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' recovery journeys while expanding your professional skills in a supportive environment. Duties Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, and mobility tasks, to promote independence and confidence. Implement and modify individualized care plans developed by occupational therapists to meet each patient's unique needs. Support therapy sessions in various settings such as inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, home health environments, and outpatient clinics. Apply your knowledge of physiology and anatomy to help evaluate patient progress and adapt interventions accordingly. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care, including medical imaging and geriatrics considerations when appropriate. Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, safety techniques, and adaptive equipment usage to foster ongoing recovery at home. Maintain detailed documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and care activities in compliance with healthcare regulations. Requirements Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) from an accredited program. Proven experience assisting with ADLs across diverse populations such as pediatrics, geriatrics, or acute care settings. Familiarity with home health environments, inpatient facilities, skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and medical imaging procedures. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and occupational health principles. Prior experience working with care plans tailored for patients in inpatient or outpatient settings. Excellent patient care skills combined with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
