Aug 10, 2026 Job Description Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant - 10 months Summary School COT-A administers treatment programs under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist Required education, training, and experience Graduation from an accredited program of OTCB Current certification as an occupational therapy assistant by the OTCB Essential duties and responsibilities Participates in evaluation and assessment using standardized measures, formal and informal tests, and checklists, as appropriate Implements therapeutic procedures for which qualified, as designated by the supervising occupational therapist Contributes to progress reports and helps collect data for IE P's Maintains current records in accordance with school, state, and federal policy Assists with keeping accurate records of therapy equipment and inventory Assists with establishing goals for students and developing individual and group therapy activities Consults with the supervising therapist concerning implementation and status of therapy goals Helps develop an awareness of individual student needs and assists the occupational therapist in monitoring those needs Assures that proper positioning and handling techniques are carried out correctly across all environments Other assigned duties Physical environment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Requires the ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form. Requires the ability to record and deliver information, explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions.
