New Hanover Regional Medical Center is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist Assistant to provide services in an Inpatient setting under the direction and supervision of a licensed therapist and functions as part of an interdisciplinary team. What We're Looking For:
Education :
High School Diploma or GED, required. Graduate from an accredited OT assistant program, required.
Licensure/Certification :
Appropriate state OT assistant license, required.
What You'll Do:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' hand and upper extremity function. Develop and implement personalized treatment plans based on initial assessments and ongoing evaluations. Educate patients and their families on injury prevention, home exercise programs, and post-treatment care. Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care. Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary. Fabricate and fit custom orthotics and splints to support healing and functional improvement. Conduct pre-surgical education and postoperative rehabilitation for patients undergoing hand surgery. Participate in continuing education and professional development to maintain certification and stay current with industry advancements.
