Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant PRN/As Needed WAGE Job Purpose:
To plan, organize, develop, and direct Occupational Therapy Services in facility in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, and as may be directed by an Occupational Therapist, to ensure that highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.
Core Responsibilities Implement Treatment:
Execute rehabilitative activities and exercises outlined by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
Document Progress:
Record patient responses to therapy, track progress, and help OTs evaluate and adjust treatment plans. Knowledge and experience with PointClickCare preferred but not required.
Patient Education:
Instruct residents and their families on how to perform home exercises, use adaptive equipment, and make environmental adjustments.
Support Clinical Care:
Assist in setting up therapy equipment, maintaining a clean workspace, and completing necessary clinical or billing records.
Collaborate:
Communicate daily with OTs, doctors, nurses, and other professionals to ensure cohesive care.
Education and Qualifications:
Education:
Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
Licensure/Certification:
Active state licensure is required, alongside certification by the National Board for Certification in
Occupational Therapy Physical & Soft Skills:
Requires physical stamina (for assisting/lifting residents), deep empathy, and strong communication skills.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred but not required. WAGE Independent Contract Agreement, please call for details.
