ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(including the following but are not limited to): Experience working with adults with I/DD preferred, or experience treating individuals with physical, cognitive, and/or psychological ailments Timely completion of daily notes, progress notes, and discharge summaries Coordinating with occupational therapist(s) to adapt and/or modify the course of treatment as indicated Communicate with supports coordinator to promote implementation of recommendations in home and community settings Educate staff on recommendations to be performed outside of therapy sessions Adheres to DDD guidelines for habilitative therapy services Follows directives from supervising Occupational Therapist(s) and Clinical Director Maintain accurate records of daily notes, progress, and treatment plans, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards Work with healthcare providers to ensure effective client care and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as needed
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Degree from an Occupational Therapy Assistant program from an accredited institution Valid NJ state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience preferred; ideally with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (special needs) Strong understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills Ability to develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives Experience with Foothold AWARDS preferred If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities, we invite you to apply today and become a part of our mission at New Concepts for Living!
