Job Description
Job Description We are seeking a licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide pediatric occupational therapy services for Early Intervention (birth-3) and school-age students across home, school, and community settings on Long Island. The COTA will implement treatment plans developed by a supervising Occupational Therapist to support children with developmental delays, sensory processing challenges, fine motor and visual-motor deficits, and functional skill needs. This role emphasizes hands-on, individualized interventions that promote participation in daily routines, academic tasks, and age-appropriate activities. The COTA will collaborate with families, educators, service coordinators, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure consistent and effective service delivery across environments, under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
Responsibilities include:
Implement occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist for EI and school-age students Provide direct occupational therapy services in home-based EI, school-based, and community settings Support development of fine motor skills, sensory regulation, self-care, play skills, and overall functional participation Collect data and communicate progress to the supervising Occupational Therapist Collaborate with families, teachers, and related service providers to support generalization and carryover of skills Assist with documentation including session notes and progress updates in accordance with supervision requirements Provide caregiver and staff support and strategies as directed by the supervising Occupational Therapist Maintain ethical and professional standards in accordance with New York State and American Occupational Therapy Association guidelines Requirements Current New York State Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license required Associate's degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program required Pediatric experience preferred; Early Intervention (EI) and/or school-based experience a plus but not required Ability to pass required background checks and clearances Strong communication, organization, and clinical implementation skills Ability to work independently across multiple settings while collaborating under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist Professional, reliable, flexible, and child-focused Benefits Flexible schedule Ongoing clinical support Opportunities for advancement Paid sick time Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Simply Innovative Therapies Garden City, NY 11530 $40 - $50 an hour $40 - $50 an hour Job Description We are seeking a licensed Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide pediatric occupational therapy services for Early Intervention (birth-3) and school-age students across home, school, and community settings on Long Island.
